Somehow, Social Media came along and it sounds like its the next big thing. However, why are majority of the businesses still using Email Marketing? The question is not why, we all see the potential. The question is what do we use Email and Social Marketing for?
Email Marketing has a formula, you grab the audience and have them opt in to your Landing Page in exchange for their email, you provide a free book or product. Then, you have the power to promote, reveal, build a relationship. This stage we are building trust, credibility and rapport. All sales method has this part, which helps the audience gain trust and see who you are and why they should open their emails.
With Email Marketing, you want to make sure they continue to receive your emails and open them. With every email, you want to provide a “Take Action” initiative. As you are analyzing your reports, you want to see how your List are reacting to your emails.
Here is how Social Media Marketing should be used.
You want them to take part of your community, or other means to access you and provide enough “in presence” visibility so that they will not forget who you are. Every company does it this way, they have a site for you to receive the latest updates, products, inside information and continue their visibility with Social Media. Once in awhile, they will use Social Media to tell those who have not opted in to their page to sign up.
Taking a different approach to Social Media being first and Email Marketing second will endanger your business and your content. You want to rely on Email Marketing to provide quality content and emphasize it with your Social Media.
By informing your audience that your Emails are what they would want to look forward to, using Social Media, you will have people opt in and open your emails.
Once you understand this formula, take initiative and see how it works. Track your progress and see the results.
